Children at a shared table indoors at Fairfield

Cooked on site

Every meal is cooked fresh, on site, by our own centre cooks.

Five a day, on a menu designed so every child can eat from it. Our cooks complete healthy menu planning training through NSW Health's Munch & Move program, so menus are built on the Caring for Children guidelines rather than guesswork.

The menu

A four-week seasonal rotation, shared with you.

Menus run on a four-week seasonal rotation, so children see genuine variety across the month. The full menu is displayed in every centre and shared with families through OWNA, so you always know what your child has been offered, and what to avoid repeating at dinner.

How the kitchen runs

What sits behind the five meals a day.

  • Cooked on site

In the centre's own kitchen, by the centre's own cook.

  • Fresh, every day

Cooked that day rather than delivered in or reheated.

  • Five meals

Breakfast, morning tea, a hot lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.

  • Seasonal

A four-week rotation that changes with what is in season.

  • Shared with you

The menu is given to families rather than kept in the kitchen.

  • Ready to learn

The reason for all of it: a well-fed child can take on the day.

Because a well-fed child is a child who's ready to learn, play and take on the day.

Staying connected

Part of Their Day, Even When You’re Not There

Through OWNA, families can stay connected with their child’s day at Brighter Beginnings. Educators share daily updates, important information and messages, helping you stay informed while your child is in our care.

You’ll also find centre information and seasonal menus in one convenient place, so you know what’s happening and what your child has been offered throughout the day. OWNA is also used to securely complete enrolment when your family is ready.
