Work left out overnight, so a child can return to what they were building rather than starting over each morning.

4 – 6 years
Daintree Forest is our preschool room, the final year before children start big school. Our Bright Start to School Program develops the skills that matter, through independent play and educator guidance supporting each child’s development.

The preschool room
School readiness is not worksheets. It is being able to listen in a group, ask for help, finish something you started and manage a disagreement, and those are built through play, not instead of it.
Our Bright Start program runs in this room in the year before school, alongside the everyday learning the Early Years Learning Framework guides.

About Daintree Forest
The four questions we hear most about the preschoolers room.

Four things the Daintree Forest room is arranged around.
Work left out overnight, so a child can return to what they were building rather than starting over each morning.
Stories, discussion and turn-taking in a circle: the shape of a school day, practised where it is safe to get it wrong.
Names, letters, counting and pattern, met through play and conversation rather than drilled at a desk.
Disagreements are worked through with an educator alongside rather than settled over the children's heads.

Staying connected
Through OWNA, families can stay connected with their child’s day at Brighter Beginnings. Educators share daily updates, important information and messages, helping you stay informed while your child is in our care.
You’ll also find centre information and seasonal menus in one convenient place, so you know what’s happening and what your child has been offered throughout the day. OWNA is also used to securely complete enrolment when your family is ready.
